Default First effort still life...thanks Gary

As I made mention in another post, I have been very inspired by Gary's photograph's of still life and flowers etc (not to mention other similar examples by other posters.

So I purchased a moderately priced set of lights, tent cube and have had a go at it, spent ages and lots of shots using different settings....had a ball albeit frustrating at times....it is my very attempt at working with flash, lights etc.

This is the beauty of a forum like yours, to inspire others, and I thank you all for it, have learned a lot in my feeble attempts.

The subject itself is a branch of gum leaves with a plastic poppy (Remembrance day icon here in Australia and Britain), we are in Winter here so no flowers available.

Thank you for looking, and thank you Gary, I have really appreciated your posts.

Cheers from Oz

Good first attempt, Lee! The beauty of digital photography is that you can keep shooting til the cows come home and it won't cost you a dime in film or processing.

Thanks very much for your generous words. I appreciate it deeply.

Good lighting on that one, no harsh shadows and the colors look natural.

Nice result for your first attemp.
Did you add light in a graphics program or so, because I see some noise and at ISO100 I would not expect that.
All through I know my E-3 can produce a lot of noise as well , certainly on blacks.
One photo out of focus is a mistake, ten photo out of focus are an experimentation, one hundred photo out of focus are a style.
