Default Colorizing Lincoln

I've read and studied the American Civil War (or War of Secession) for over 20 years. In that time, I have never seen a color photograph of Abraham Lincoln -- until today.

Hi Gary

I spotted the pics over at "theonlinephotographer" and he seemed a wee bit upset with the colour work done on the images. That specific pic looks good in colour but the others I'm not too sure about.. here's the post over at the TOP

Gary, I found this very interesting - thanks for posting it.

You had to know without even looking, that the TOP page would have commentors going ballistic. Some people simply think some B&W photos are sacred. Personally, in this sequence I prefer some of the B&W photos over the colorized ones, and in other cases vice versa. I do prefer the colorized photo of Lincoln although I agree that the artist should get the colors right.
