Default Underbelly

A shot of a C-130 shot from a somewhat different perspective than your normal aircraft photos.

Thanks Marcello. Yes, that compartment was indeed open as it was in the process of making a parachute drop.

Just a few times Ive seen C130 with the trap open buzzing around here, and you can see crewmen inside messing around with a payload they dont seem to drop. I think perhaps bits of gear theyre working on, within sight of missile batteries. I imagine it makes a good platform for various experiments. The Base they come from houses ARDU, the research development unit, and down the road from there is DSTO, defence sciences who dream up various countermeasures.

Local to me is an Army base organised with AA missile batteries, on occasion its been RAAFs job to attack them so that both sides pick up their skills,
theyre only using Pilatus aircraft but at very, very low level.
