Default Just passing through

We've had bazillions of Hummers passing though lately. The descend en mass on the feeders and guzzle until their little tanks are filled.
Then the next day they're gone. Heading north to Canada or Alaska.

I tried to get a couple of shots but they're always in motion and late afternoon low light, there has to be about 3 dozen of them buzzing about.

My Feeder..!

Hey, stop shoving, I saw it first..!

I'm outta here..

...to take a break, far from the madding crowd.

Aaaah! Peace at last.

........love'em, it must've been fun for you too. I see maybe 2 or 3 all year at our place.

ABOVE ... 'Outta Here' is a beautiful image, super good. Crop it vertical and put it in a frame

Nice shots, I love hummingbirds as well, but like Bob, lucky to see 3 of them a year. Been thinking about putting up a feeder for them. I wonder what is a good food that attracts them. I see several brands for sale but I'm sure there must be a favorite among them.

Thanks Bob and James. It's the feeder that makes the difference. "If you feed them, they will come" Oh wait, that was about a baseball field....but it still holds true
My wife cooks up her own Zoom juice and it seems to. No it definitely does work. I'll ask for her secret recipe when she gets home..

I've had red-juice feeders for years, both this house and the other...... nothing works for me.

My neighbor across the street clams she has them at her feeders but I think she doesn't know a hummer from a road-runner.

Hey Ken: thanks for posting these. Excellent shots! I especially like #3. It is a classic pose, good focus and contrast, and the colors of the bird stand out well against the gray background. That one would make a good print to hang on a wall in a den.

Thanks guys. I forgot to mention I used fill flash on him and the others on the feeder. Slowed things down a bit so I missed a few shots but the ones I caught, I was pleased with.

I took your advice and cropped vertical on that one little guy. I had a 5x7 mask so printed it up for that...then my wife grabbed it..!

Made her happy, so that's all that counts, right?

ROTFLOL!

Do you have roadrunners in Texas? They weren't very easy to find in Arizona when I lived there, but great fun when you did find one.
