....saw the PG many times flying around the North American and other mfg facilities in SoCal during the early 1960s. The pregnant guppy literally looked as if it were 'sitting still' in the air, it was so slow.

I once saw the PG loading too, with the front swung to the side... I am not sure which was the most unusual to see ..... the PG or the North American building swinging away so the loading could happen.

We have an freight airport not far from here (90 miles) that houses these flying relics that are sent over to air shows, etc. They call themselves "Yankee Air Force". The airport is called Willow Run (Detroit) and on the property is the old factory where all the B24 Liberators were made during the war and also where "Rosie the Riveter" got her name. See here. http://www.freep.com/article/2013102...0101/310210134 I believe most of it is torn down now but there was an effort made to save one of the hangars for the Yankee Air Force but I'm not sure if enough funds were raised.
