Default E20 indoor photos

My E20 photos indoors do not seem as crisp as outdoor photos.

Sharpness, contrast are set to normal.

This occurs with both flash of E20 and with an FL-40.

Anybody have any ideas on how to improve?

I don't know if this is the problem, but I've found that a tripod indoors seems vital. If you're already using a tripod, then maybe it's your settings. Are you using aperture or shutter priority or are you using program mode? I tend to go for aperture priority in most situations except for when I need higher shutter speeds. Indoors, I tend to go for a wider aperture which will lead to a higher shutter speed.

Other than the above, I can't think of what might be causing the problem. Indoor lighting doesn't give the crispness that sunlight does, but you're using the flash, so the softness shouldn't really be all that soft.

Not much help, am I?
