Default Bright-eyed baby

The Tampa zoo had another baby orangutan born there this year. It is still shy, and usually hides behind the mother away from the zoo visitors. I waited patently and was finally rewarded when it peeked around the mom and cast a quick glance at the humans. E-3 and 50-200mm + 1.4 converter.

Steven, another really fine shot. Did you have a tripod or bean bag, or did you hand-hold the camera?

Well done.

Thanks so much, John. This was handheld at 1/160 sec at f4.0. ( I hardly ever use a tripod.)

Well, Steven, that makes it an even better shot. Even at 1/160th wide open, freezing the subject isn't easy given the magnification factor.

Great stuff.
