I'm considering getting the FL-36 for my E-500 but have a few questions:* *1) One of the things that bugs me about using the in-built flash on the E-500 is the series of flashes it emits to focus at night before the actual shot is taken. Would this problem be solved with the FL-36 attached? I'm assuming the FL-36 uses IR to help in night time focusing?* *2) Can the in-built flash be popped up and used as a fill light with the FL-36 attached? I've read conflicting statements on this point and was wondering if anyone can confirm this?Really appreciate any help on these matters. Many thanks!

1. Yes the FL36 uses its own red focussing light.

2. You cannot use the built in flash on the E500 - you can on the E300 which might be the source of confusion.
