Before the monthly photo club meeting I walked the trails with my E-M5 and 60mm f2.8 looking for the first tiny plants as they have started sprouting through the dead leaves. By next weekend they'll be blooming, but for now..
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Before the meeting started, I was trying to track down some cardinals that were flying in and out of a bird-watching area outside the main window in the meeting hall. Cardinals do not sit still for hardly any amount of time and are frustrating as heck for me to try and shoot. The overcast day didn't help any and I wound up only managing this image at ISO 1600 and 300mm with the 75-300. 1/500 second wide open at f6.7..

What a pretty Cardinal, excellent composition and perfect exposure.
I found a couple 'earth-level' (very tiny) blooms yesterday so it is time to regularly be looking.

Nice shots. It will be quite a while before there are any blooms around this area. First to bloom in my yard are the Day Lilies.

Love the shot on the Cardinal! Nice color and details even in the shades.

Nice shot on the cardinal, I really had to pixel peek at the original to see the grain and even then it was barely there... Testament to the new sensor.
The flower pods are nice too, but by now you've probably figured out birds are my favorites ;-)
