Default 'tis Friday nights show time again

The local Friday night 'cruize-in' is back on my doit-when-the-sun-shines list and last night there were a couple I had not seen before plus the return of a buddies '34 4-door Chevy (5 months ago he was rear-ended & guess what, some 1934 Chevy stuff is hard to find....)

Here are a some from last night. The E-P3 and FT 9-18 again, it is the best tool I've got for this kind of imaging. It feels so natural, looks correct and auto focuses just fine; it gets the work done.

Greg, I just saw your email about the Clark show, I am thinking about it, maybe a conflict with Bonnie's schedule... will get back to you.

E-P3/FT 9-18 .. manual exposure

The best looking flathead there last night

He drove it down the street and onto the lot with the squeeze horn clearing the way

1964 Studebaker Avanti

The Avanti engine with a Paxton Supercharger, this is a really nice car.

The '34 Chevy..........

That first angled shot is one freaky-looking angle.

The lines on the second (Holiday) vehicle are really beautiful. What make is that? The design on the wheel looks like Cadillac.

That is one great lens for this use.

That gorgeous red Chevy looks like a fast one, too.

great shots, I'm glad the show and shine is back on as I always find your shots from it very cool

I think the Avanti's front end is weird looking but the cleanliness of the engine bay is very cool as is the color.

Thanks RA, it is fun for me to do and I am glad you like seeing them.

The Avanti was a unique design, ahead of its time. There aren't a lot around as nice as this one, especially with the factory engine setup. There were so many people just standing around this car talking about it that I managed only the tight shots, perhaps he will return and I can get some full car images of it one night.

I also love to see your great car shots Bob. How much, if any, PP do you do on these, the colors just look so good.

Thanks James & Marcelo, I appreciate your comments very much.

The first image here is a fun one alright and it shows off the cam/lens so well. I am also toying with Photomatix for some low-level HDR and that image is one of the candidates for the test.

None of these are seen by Photomatix but are out of ASPro. James, I process all my files with ASPro to include whatever it takes to render the image to my liking...... Sometimes very little, sometimes quite a lot and once in a while but seldom a file as it comes from the camera.

One thing for sure is the VF-2 makes these kinds of images, for me, possible. I love that gadget even though it is rubber-banded to the camera & the locking nib is broken away.

This is a beautiful car, a '59 2-door Impala hardtop, quite a looker and the year of the great wingspan backend.

I had a '59 white 4-door Impala vista hardtop with the powder blue interior.... a really BIG car.
