Default Equine Captures

Thought I would share some of my experiences shooting horses. I have not tried to capture the steeds in full flight as Greg has so capably done, instead I have gone for the more sedate horses, the bronze type. They make much easier subjects...

Starting on Parliament Hill, Ottawa a few views of HRH on Centennial, a gift from the RCMP.

The full statue

Next off to Montreal to Dorchester Square.
One of the few equine statues where the horse is riderless, this from a monument to the lads who set off overseas during the Boer War

Closing off with the greatest horse of all time, Pegasus.
With a bit of extraordinary luck I was able to capture this shot with no one visible around the fountain. And the gardens were swarming with both locals and tourists. This is in the Mirabellgarten, Salzburg

Next time, the big cats...
Cheers

Some really beautiful monuments. That may be the first monument I've seen dedicated to the Boer War vets. Nasty affair.

Thanks for the comments. Had not realized that over the summer I had been collecting these statue shots. The Pegasus shot was just so lucky, crowd wise. Could have used a tripod to fully smooth the water but my wife was getting tired of lens changes so a tripod would have been a deal breaker
