Default Experiments with gradient overlays, Eastern Colorado

I'm driving across country for a wedding in Yosemite. This is from day 4, driving from the Kansas border to Denver. After these photos were taken it got extremely dark, and we drove through a 2 hour hail storm. I'm surprised my car survived without dents.

But before the nasty storm, there were some great clouds. And I have a good opportunity to try some gradient overlays. This is probably a pretty rudimentary beginning of adding them, but I think the results worked out.

Beautiful skies! I love shooting landscapes that include dramatic sky details. What a great drive. That's definitely an "active" part of the country, weather-wise this time of the year.

Love the sun rays coming through the clouds. Absolutely gorgeous. And to think you were doing 60 mph.

these are really nice and a perfect opportunity for the gradient filter to be used. I like them both but the second with the open road ahead and the slight speed blur caused by movement in the foreground really speaks to me of the vastness of this country as big as the sky above.
