Default Maui, HI

I haven't posted lately, mainly because I haven't been taking many pictures. I still lurk a bit, and although the forum seems a little quieter, there are still great pictures that show up. I noticed quite a few POTD over the last couple of months from some familiar names.

However, I was able to go on vacation to Hawaii a couple of weeks ago, so lots of good photo opportunities. Here are some of my favorites. All with the EP5 and 12-40 pro.

Thanks for taking a look!

Hey stranger,

Thanks for posting these. Just love the first one, so atypical of what I'd expect from Hawaii. IMO that's a wall hanger because it's so simple but effective.

Good series with nice compositions, detail, and color. I like them all, especially the one of the water and surf, with the clouds resting on the mountains in the background.

Thanks Sammy! That first one is the top of Mt. Haleakala for sunrise. We did it on our second day there when we had the time change working for us, since it's like a 3 hour drive. It was chilly at 10,000 feet, so even though I felt funny taking a jacket to Hawaii, I'm glad I did.

I have a bunch of other pictures of the actual sunrise, but I'm not sure I like any of them. I'll see if I can get some of them posted before too long.

Thanks Steven! It's funny that I actually struggled to come up with a beach picture for Hawaii, but it's one of the reasons we picked Maui, we weren't limited to just the beach.

Thanks again!

That first image could almost be a shot from Mars.
