Default Olympus Stylus 400?

Hi all

How is the Olympus Stylus 400? Is it a good camera?

There are a lot of cameras available like the Stylus 400, but if you want a weather resistant camera, the Stylus line is the one to look at.

I haven't personally tried the Stylus cameras, I prefer larger cameras like my Olympus C-700.

It is a nice camera but purely point and shoot. I take my little C50 with me everywhere and donít find I need weatherproofing. Iíve even shot some rainbows in the rain and it didnít hurt it. I would think that after a year of taking it fishing along with everywhere else I go it would have had problems if is was going to.

IMO the Canon S400 is a much more usable camera than the Stylus 400 and it is a little smaller. If I were buying the C50 today I would opt for the Pentax 555 instead. It wasnít available when I bought mine. The C50 has been a good camera though. But I wouldnít base my decision on weatherproof and end up with P&S.
