Before and after - with and without SA
With ![]() And without ![]() Not really a good test as she was in different positions and areas of the feeding station. But, SA does work quite well.

Hello again, Gary-
I am amazed at the huge difference in image quality between the two cameras. Now I just have to my hands on mine! Sarah Joyce |

Me, too. I think I've found a keeper in the SP590. To be sure, there are some things I dislike about the SP590. None have anything to do with performance. I miss the zoom ring. I liked the way the 570 showed what the settings were on the LCD between shots - like the DSLRs. The 590 doesn't do that. Not that I'm constantly placing/removing it from the tripod (I have a quick-release plate), but, it's got a plastic tripod mount. No power indicator. And, no hotshoe. There's a many more things I like about it. It seems a bit more compact. Of course, the zoooooooooom, it's faster in every aspect - from start-up to focusing (even in low light). And, they've added a couple of features that I'll probably never use such as the "Beautify" feature for portraits. The Panorama Mode is REALLY slick - very much like what Sony is touting in the HX-1. The buttons have been rearranged - again. That'll take some getting-used-to.

Good Morning, Gary-
Well, all in all the SP-590 sounds very positive. Certainly, the image quality has improved along with other things as well, such as the new physical form factor. I got a surprise last night. I have a birthday coming up, and my husband said to me, "If you can find a way to return that new Olympus SP-590 being shipped to us, I think you ought to get the Olympus E-620 DSLR to replace it. You might enjoy the E-620 challenge, more in the final analysis." So, that is what I am going to start working on this morning. What a very nice surprise. I guess you can say that made my day. Have a great day. Sarah Joyce |

Hi Gary-
At 4:00pm the UPS man delivered the Oly SP-590. Naturally, I set-up immediately, and here 10 minutes later, is the first photo, which always traditionally is of my husband, Bradley. God Bless, Bradley he is always so patient with me. Sarah Joyce |

Honestly, Gary-
The OLY SP-590 is a very sweet camera. But I am supposed to return it, as my husband wants to purchase the OLY E-620 for me. Such a dilemma! I already have too many cameras as Bradley has let me know, rather plainly. Oh well, the weekend lies ahead, we will see what we can work out. I have the lenses and the external flash to support the E-620, so it is not out of the question. I will let you know later. Have a great weekend. Sarah Joyce |
