Default newbie, mju (stylus) 300 or c-740?

Hello everybody!

I'm as newbie as you can supose, i hardly used my camera, an olympus mju: II 80 but I want to solve this. I want a digital one and take loads of photos but I don't know whether to buy the mju 300 just to look-and-shoot or the c-740 with all the manual features and 10x zoom. I don't know if I'll found it too complicated. I want to learn so I think it's better the c-740 but I've been told that the mju 300's battery is a better choice. want should i do?

prices: mju 300--> 330 c-740-->400 c-5000-->400 c-750-->600
so i've discarded the last one

i also accept other recomendations

thank you everybody

you make a great page, congratulations!

I assuming that the mju 300 is the us version Stylus 300. I would prefer the C740 with it's ultra zoom and more manual control. The ultra zoom will not work as well as the 300 in low light condition with the zoom full extended. The 300m is more a point and shoot camera while the 740 has many manual control options.

Thanks for your answer
i think I'll buy the c740, but is it a con the kind of batteries it need? heard that lithium batteries are better, does the c740 batteries "dead" fast?
