I was reading reviews of the C-5000, which I was thinking of buying. People were complaining that, first it wasn't as good as the C-5060, it couldn't automatically focus itself in indoor light, the flash over-exposed photos, and the slow shutter speed caused people to miss things like their "baby's smile". Are these things true?

This would be my first digital camera.I wanted more than a point-and-shoot so that I could learn more about photography and have some fun with the camera. Now, I'm wondering if the C-5000 is a good pick for me. I thought that with the full auto mode I would be able to get some good shots, but I want them to be good even if I am not outside in full light.

What do you think?

Thanks for your help!
