Being new to digital cameras I figured my scenery shots would be as good as my film camera produces. However in P or in landscape mode I have not acheived the clearity I expect even in the higer resolutions. What do you suggest and is it possible to acheive great scenery shots. Going to Alaska on Friday and really want to make the most of the camera.

I can only suggest keep taking lots of outdoor shots, and read the manual that comes on the disk. I have printed out sections of the manual so I have the instructions under my nose when Im playing with the camera.Once you get to know the camera you will probably use the manual mode the most. I have used the landscape mode and find that the colours are too saturated or unreal.
The 8080can be a complicated camera, experience should improve your shots. Hope this helps. mvasteve.
