Default D-40 / C-50 / C-5050 ???????

Which digicam (and why) would you recommend for people pics in indoor, low-light environment (most accurate skin tones and detail)? The more I research, the more I get confused.

Yesterday I would have been posting this on a Canon forum. All of my research to date has been on the Canon G2 and G3. Today, however, I attended a digital camera conference in Toronto and had a chance to hold and compare different brands and models. While I was impressed with the new G3, the Olympus cameras blew me away. Nevertheless, the more I learn about the new models, the more questions I have. Will the 5050 solve the problems I read about on this site? Is the G3 articulated LCD better than the less articulated one on the 5050? Why doesn't Olympus include a battery charger and rechargeable batteries? Is Lithium better than NiCad? So many choices?
