Ok I had heard and still do hear, that theres almost no point using manual focus, as it can take longer to change the manual from shot to shot than let your camera do the work

So i never really touched it except for Super Macro (I use a 5050). So today i was messing with it. and I checked out the extremes, at 20cm, and infinity
Now at 20cm's, whats expected happened. Everything outside that range was totally out of focus. But at Infinity, EVERYTHING was in focus...

That seemed a tad strange to me cause i was using my cam at F1.8. So i took a few more, and same deal. The only parts of my pics that were ever out of focus was about 1 foot in front of my camera. And truthfully most pics don't have something within 1 foot of my lens...

So any sort of negatives to setting your cam to manual and going nuts at Infinity?
