Default Printing from Olympus D-550

I have just purchased the Olympus D-550 and am experimenting with the settings. I thought I had it set correctly for printing photos but perhaps not:

--3:2 1984x1312 (high)

(And the rest were the default settings)

I used the best quality printing so the photos were not grainy; however they were still pixelated. Is there anyway to reduce the pixelation on my printed-photos?

Thanks in advance!

You should look to see what DPI the picture was...most of the time it's 72dpi which isn't good for printing, but as it's a much larger picture, you can reduce the inch size and it will increase the DPI (if you're using a proper photo program). For instance, a 2mp (1600x1200) picture is 22.2" by 16.6" at 72dpi...but if I reduce it to 8x10 and selecting the right setting for your program which adjusts dpi, it will become 150dpi which is better.

It's a step we all had to learn.
