Default Simulated IS on C-730 !!

I just returned from a month-long trip to Paris. I played with my new Olympus C-730 the entire time trying out various settings. I think I may have stumbled into a way to photograph 10X zoom pictures in low light conditions while holding the camera by hand. In the mode menu, set the Camera->Drive->High. Then each picture you take will set the exposure and focus first "exposure" and then take the picture on the second. It is hard to explain, just try it. It is amazing what a difference this makes when holding the camera by hand when zoomed in all the way especially in lowish light conditions. I will try and post the samples shortly.

If you try this method, let me know how it works for you.

Doesn't. For me the first picture is always the most still. I find the fact I can't see the frame between pictures using the multi-frame mode a hinderance.

You can see some of the handheld shots I did at full optical and full digital zoom at:
