i have a stylus 400 and its my all time favorite. its gone through a lot in my possession (directly under the niagara falls twice, dropped countless times, lost & found again quite a few times, etc etc) and i am pretty much a complete olympus fan when it comes to durability.
i have this problem with my camera now and its hard for me to just let go. i want to get it working again and the guys at the camera shops are saying it'll cost around 150 to 200 with which i can get a new camera instead of getting this one repaired...
i want to repair it myself and have no idea how to do it.
the problem is that the sliding cover has come off. it came off quite a while ago and since then i have been using it a bit more carefully. but the contacting wire(i dont know what its actually called) that connects the sliding cover with the body of the camera is broken in half. so, the camera is not switching on. i can still go into preview mode to see the pics that are already in it but i cannot get the camera to turn on to take pictures.
please help me out with this if you know anything at all.
i'd really appreciate any help that any of you guys could give me.
