I have a C5000 that I took with us on our most recent family vacation. Some a$$ decided it would be funny to spray me with water with a camera in my hand. Ever since that incident my camera LCD screen doesn't work and when I turn the camera on - the lense will come out, then retract again.

All in all - I honestly haven't been very happy with this camera. It's zoom capabilities just aren't what I expected them to be.

I've been reading about the Nikon D50 and it sounds perfect for the life stage that we're at with 3 youngchildren playing baseball, football, wrestling, cheerleading, etc...BUT - I just don't know if fixing what I already have will be a lot cheaper in the long run. Another consideration is we don't have a camera repair place in our town and would either have to ship the camera off - or drive 1 1/2 hours to take it into a repair shop.

I just don't know what to do.....
