I have tried the moon a few times and this is so far my best result (but still not really enough focal length to get it good).

Canon 30D with Sigma 70-200 f2.8 with 1.4x and 2x tele converters stacked giving560mm or 896mm equivalent. 1/160th, f14 and ISO 500.

Thanks,

Mark

Great shot Mark,

A few months ago a shot a lot of moon shots after a lot of trial and error I came up with this using Canon Rebel XT 70-300 IS,ISO 200 1/200 F11. Using a focal length justbelow the 300mm point (lens is a touch soft at 300 for this shot)then a touch of PS and crop.

Thanks Mugmar.

It is the best one that I have had so far and could not have got it without the 2 telecons stacked. Yours is good and sharp so I think you made the right choice pulling out of the max zoom.
