Default Moon Shots

Here are some very new Moon shots, this time in JPG, not RAW.

Very interesting, you'll notice that the Shutter is 1/60 in all 4 photos. However, higher F 5.3, 6.6 and 7.4 in JPG and to get the same effect in RAW which has F 4.2 ...anyone know why? Maybe because of the amount of light off the Moon's surface is greater?

Only thing done in PS7 is cropping and Unsharp Mask 0.8 @ 100%

S 1/60 - F 5.3 - JPG

S 1/60 - F 6.6 - JPG

S 1/60 - F 7.4 - JPG

S 1/60 - F 4.2 - from original RAW image

the reason for a wide aperture on the raw picture is due to the phase of the moon. it is a crescent as opposed to the gibbous phase in the others. less reflected light means more aperature.

Default These were taken with a Canon A200

I took these pictures tonight, Sept 6th, simply holding my Canon A200 into the lens of my telescope .. not bad for a cheap 2Mb camera that has no manaul over-rides....
