Hello all

Just this morning, I heard about this project. One thousand professional phototgraphers all over America for a week ALSO with digital photographs emailed from amateur photographers.

Dang, I cannot believe I have not heard of this project!

Olympus, Lexar , Canon, et al are on board as corporate sponsors.

You can read more about it here:

http://www.creativepro.com/story/feature/20073.html

The book can be preordered at a discount on for shipment on October 27th here:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...sbn=0789499754

Retail: $50, discount $35, a litttle less with Reader's advantage 10% off.

Just an FYI...

Digcamfan,

Thanks for the information. It is quite an interesting project. I may even buy a copy.

They had a contest this past May for photographers to take pictures during a given week (May 12-18), each day was a different theme. Then you were to select one photo from each day of shooting and send it in. It was my intention to enter a few pictures (they could have only been taken during that week) but I was too busy (new baby born on May 19th).

BTW, there are 53 editions of this book. One for America, one for each state, and then a special edition for DC and for NYC.

Hi all,

Update...

I did pick up a copy of this book.

Sad to say, it is not the great work that it could have been.

Many photos are of poor quality (or reduced in quality for
the book).

In all honesty, I cannot recommend it. I am giving my copy
to a local library.

It's such a shame. A wonderful concept gone awry, I guess. If my local library gets it, I'll look at it there because I've been very curious about it.
