Default My first starfield photo

I've wanted to do this forever. I finally have the camera to do it. I used my Canon XSI and used a 1600 iso and slow shutter speed.

It is not necessary to have such a high ISO. If you have a bulb setting on your camera, you can use the widest lens you have, perhaps a 24mm and ISO 200. I use F/8 at 30 sec. When i get the image into photoshop, I use Image>adjust>threshhold and adjust the slider as I like. That way you can get many hidden stars or just a few of the brightest. You can download "Stellarium" for free and learn about what you have photographed. It is a wonderful program. Have fun
