Default a trick of the light

just thought i'd post these as an example of how the light tricks our eyes...

a ridge along the valley floor...



or is it?



actually, it's a small ravine eroded into the valley at the foot of Mt St Helens. the first shot is upside down, second shot is the proper orientation. just goes to show, you can't always believe your own eyes!

Ah thats an interesting optical illusion. Its exactly the same illusion if you look at an Aero milk chocolate bar wrapper. When looked at normally the picture of the bar shows the inside is full of holes. But if you turn it around they become solid bubbles.
