Default NYC's Finest

I went back to Ford Foundation to photograph the building facade yesterday but saw instead cops on motorbikes parked in front. This neighborhood of Manhattan called "Tudor City" is very close to (in fact across the street from) the U.N. Building.

I suspect a VIP is in town because I also saw beat cops in two's or four's walking around the neighborhood. The U.S. Presidential convoy traverses the area whenever he's in town. They change the actual streets at the last minute when the convoy passes through plus I'm sure they run decoys too so you can't plan ahead and wait for the President at a certain street corner, although one time I got lucky and saw Bill Clinton inside a speeding limo waving at the crowd, in fact waving at me and mouthing my name as if saying, "Hi, Billy!"... )

Anyway, to cut to the chase, I'm not saying Obama's in town but judging from the cops I saw something was up.

#1. Pretty cops all in a row just kidding!

#2. This shot reminds me of a TV game show where a contestant is supposed to guess which among actors is the real cop.

C&C welcome. Thank you for looking!

I think that the #2 rider in the second picture is the fake - he's missing the intimidating glasses. And for kicks I'll say that #1 and #3 were trying to look at you tough, but if they really cared about you taking pictures we wouldn't be looking at this photo! (lol)

I enjoy these shots: the bikes are beautiful machines and these guys look good in their line. They deserve respect for the job they do. The varying colors are nice as are the textures.

Thanks, AaronB, for the humor. It made me laugh! Yes, they do deserve our respect.

Who knows? Maybe they were rehearsing. I see them rehearsing all the time. Which makes sense...

That makes a lot of sense. Because I see them all the time, too. I didn't realize some of them could just be rehearsals.

The Harley Road King has a timeless look about them. It is better then the baby blue and white that was the old colors. Think I have a pic of the old color scheme some where. They all have ABS now.

Thanks, maggo85 and shoturtle!

shoturtle, thanks for the info. I guess ABS stands for "anti-lock brakes" found in cars.
