Default Textures

in addition to "microscapes", i've been sort of concentrating on capturing close-ups of various natural things - the textures of wood and stone, in particular. i'm thinking at some point in the future of doing a themed exhibition of this sort of thing... kind of "natural abstracts"...

a log worn smooth by wind and waves...



a close-up of a large basalt rock at Gold Beach on the Oregon coast...



the remains of an old-growth cedar in the Cascades...



a rock on the beach near Everett, WA...

I think they're all pretty cool, but the basalt is my favorite. I really like the layers.
