Somethings broken.

P.S. if you want to see what the oil corps are doing now. Watch the HBO documentary Gasland. It's sickening, literally.
Mike, you're absolutely right. We need more accountability, and quicker response from all responsible parties, not just BP. I'm afraid that this disaster is being used as a political tool, and THAT infuriates me.

Robert,

Such a great series, reportage. The pictures have got even more than the content itself. What a task. More feeling to them than series published in monthly .....

Thank you very much Robert

Yep, here's some discussion on some of the politics and how it affects photography and free press. I think people are learning that corruption and dancing to the tune of corporations is not something only one political party is guilty of.

Really great pics and explanation Hagwild, A real incite into whats going on from on the ground. It's been on the tv here but I've never seen the clean up operation on the beaches just video of oil. What an eye opener. Cheers.

Hey John, I don't know how I missed your post! Freedom of the press is another one of those pesky "guarantees" in that semi-worthless document, oh yeah, the Constitution. I.m really surprised I was allowed to go on the pier and photograph the clean up crews. You know, BP and the other contractors, like P2S, would NOT ALLOW the cleanup personnel to talk to the local media, much less the national, which was also here.

Hi Mark, thanks for viewing. They say the oil is going away now, not as bad as we thought. This I don't believe. Oil doesn't just go away. It goes SOMEWHERE. I think we'll visit this situation again.
