Default Not Easy Being A Swan These Days...

...when it is freezing cold for months now. Most of their eating-grounds (low water) has been covered by ice. The still open middle part of the Sound is too deep for their necks to reach the bottom, where they feed.

I didn't want to post this in the Wildlife-section.

What a delicate pick. The ice looks like clouds and the swan seems to be in an aerial realm. Very nice.

Thank you both, Ordo and banksy. I appreciate your kind comments.
The swan is resting on a slick and wet surface of ice, while the "white stuff" in the background is broken-up ice covered with snow. So, its all white, except for the reflections of the colored sky, hence the faint blue.

Best regards,
Walter

Well, thank you Ozzi-Traveller - much obliged for your kind words her. Nobody here in Norway would blink an eye at that picture - its a far too common setting these cold days.

But thanks for stopping by!

Best regards,
Walter

Thank you Daniel - I'm sure there are a lot of swans in much the same situation in Sweden. The cold is really getting to them now. Last night there was another minus 14 Centigrade night and the ice is covering more and more "swan-space" every night here in the south of Norway.

Best regards,
Walter
