You should have spilled it on a lighter colored surface--say, an Irish linen tablecloth. Well, I suppose that's taking it a bit far, but do you suppose you could somehow bring out the puddle a bit more? I'd make a suggestion on how to do this if I could figure it out myself, but I can't. Helpful, aren't I?

Reducing the size of the file for the web lost some of the details. The original looks very nice on my monitor and came out well printed. Here's the same one pulling the puddle out a bit in Photoshop.

I prefer the original myself. Monitors may have something to do with it, as well????

You're right. The larger version shows just what I was seeing in my head.

You're also right that we may all be seeing things a bit differently on our monitors. Additionally, the need for compression tends to dull the colors, sometimes significantly. This can occasionally be overcome by going a bit further than usual with saturation and levels before reducing to a JPEG--but not always.

I really love your photo. Simple, composed really well, tells a little story. Sound of hands clapping.
