They look just like the rail tracks in the US

Different approach to display. Nice.

Thanks O'Henry!

Actually I don't like this shot, but I can't figure out why!

If someone could tell me why I don't like it I would be very grateful!!!

Steve

Are you a Train Driver ? That might explain it !!!!

Did you add the Noise to the shot ?

Thank you kex and jimboy!

Maybe I don't like it because it is my own work!! Actually, it would be better to say that I am unsure of it!

The original photo was a noise free B&W shot taken in the late evening.

I cropped to move 'closer' to the tracks, added noise, increased contrast, dodged and burned the wooden planks on the rail and finally added some colour to the metal!!

Any suggestions on how anyone would have done it differently?

Regards,

Steve

When first viewing I didn't like the noise, but after looking at it for a while I like it, It has it's place...

I'm critical of my own shots...more so than I am of others. Perhaps you're the same. Also, it is pretty much a nondescript shot. It's the photoshop enhancements that interested me.

O'Henry,

This is the original, which will make it easier to see what changes have been made.

A wonderful elaboration stephendickey !

I like the work you have done on it !

As far as the shot is concerned :
You may try to rotate the shot to have the wooden planks horizontally aligned.

There is still something missing for me but I can't tell you exactly what it is.

Keep on posting.
