Default Moon 4-5-04

Here is a moon shot again, much earlier in the evening than last time (10:30 compared to 12:30), so the moon is oriented differently.

If it ever warms up around here and if the moon ever plunks itself down between the trees and if I can work my camera in the dark without falling over the tripod, I might be able to take a photo one tenth as good as this.

(Maybe I'd do better taking a picture of my foot.)

Tahnks for the nice comment Barb. As far as what I used,
10D
80-400 Sigma EX OS
ISO 100
Partial metering
1/200 sec @ F 5.6
Underexposed by 2/3 step
Moon pictures seem to come out best when I bracket exposure. Hope that helps!

Hi,
Don't underexpose, just choose a few settings.
Most of the time I use arround 1/300 or 1/400 with f8 and that works great.

Use your display to double check.

Greetings,
Frank

Okay, I'll give it a try, but if I fall face down in the grass, no one better laugh at me.

Well, by Jove, I did it! Not well, mind you, but I did it without falling on my face, which I should get points for.

I cheated. This was a moon discovered at dawn.
