I tried something different (for me), I've been primarily taking landscape and architectural photos, but have been wanting to take more still life/artisticly themed photos. I mean, I think ALL photos are artistic, I just don't necessarily know what catagory this type of photo fall into.... Please let me know what you think, and I'd be curious to see if anyone can guess what this is.

That looks like cotton, just split open. However, the contents sticking out don't look like cotton so I'm not sure.

Have you done anything special or is this just an excellent B&W photo?

Cotton is correct!!! (kinda)... I got some cotton pods, stem and all, to take some close-up 'artsy' shots in B/W. One of my daughters pulled all the cotton offof onepod to play with, and this was left. I liked the 'star' shape of the empty pod, so I photographed it too. I kinda liked the result, but was wondering if it was just my odd taste or if others found it as intriguing... Thanks for the feedback.
