Interesting photo, Suzan...especially so because the object of his shot appears to be out of the frame...or I am just missing it!

is that camo on his lens? or is it just REALLY dirty?

cool shot! you go talk to him after this one?

i'd be interested in a look through that lens

Yep it's camo. His subjects are out of the frame on the jetty. Some seagulls and a couple of pelicans. He'd been sitting there for some time and he was really close to the birds(maybe 30 feet)so I didn't go talk. I know how irritated I get when someone walks up to me or over to look at my subject and off it goes. I would have loved to see how close he gets with that thing and what his set up was.

Looks like a Canon 600mm, but I'm not positive. Due to the offwhite bodies of the large glass lenses, many nature photographers use camo covers. Looks like he might have a 2X TC on it as well.

Yes, I believe that is the 600mm and that is definitely the 2x TC (as I have the 1.4 and it's not that thick.)
