Nice colors, digicamfan, I think you would have been helped by a slight breeze, but a nice scene anyway. I like the orientation in the second one.

Very nicejuxtaposition of the monochrome background and your nations colours. (or should I say "colors":-))

I, also, like the second one best.

Tom, I am not sure if your reference to monochrome background referred to nature's way of rendering winter scenes in grays, white and blues or if you mean the background was edited to make it monochrome. Digicamfan will have to clarify but I think nature did the "editing" in this case. It appears to me that the background is actually in color.

Great photos. Maybe the flag is in color and the background is in colour!

Yes, photo was shot in color with no edit of color of the background.

It was overcast with very flat light at time of pic (just before I left for work).

The first photo was taken while I knelt down and shot "up". Had it not been time to leave for work...I coulda layed down in the snow and possibly captured the whole flag.

I love to photograph the flag and on this particular day the red, white and blue made a very nice contrast to the grey background.
