unfortunately i had only two plastic christmas balls whose surface was not smooth enough, but i think that with perfectly finished ones this could be more interesting.

I like it. It might be interesting to use two different colored ornaments. Perhaps one silver and one gold or silver and red. Smoother would be better. I don't know if they have "After Christmas" sale in Italy but if so, you should be able to find some smooth ornaments cheap.

The surface texture could be interesting for other shots. But yeah, I agree that it doesn't work here. It's a good idea though.
