Default World's Largest Cannon! (Or so they say)

This shot was the best of several attempts with my new Olympus Stylus 300. I had to hold my breath, and try not to shake. It was shot at 1/13 sec, f3.6.

Whatchathink?

As a matter of not shaking the camera you did an excellent job at this shuttertime. well done.
Just a pitty the horizontal line is tilting, but it can easily be straighten up.
As far as the size of the cannon I dont know. It seems pretty big to me!

Klaus:

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't even notice, but you are absolutely right! My editing software won't tilt the crop area. Can you make a suggestion on software or another solution?

Thanks...

Your software should still fix the tilt, you'll just have to crop it then fix the tilt.

Most editors should do some kind of rotation of photos. I use photoshop myself, but it's rather expensive.

You could try out i.e PSP (Paint shop Pro) which can be downloaded
in trialversion! But first check out your own software - it should be possible to straighten up lines.

Regards
Klaus

Photoshop Elements 2.0 does rotation and its relatively cheap (< 50).

p.s. the worlds longest cannon was "Long Tom" if I remember correctly.

This is the best I could do. Man it eats up a lot of photo. I'll have to watch that next time - while holding my breath you know...

Dawgcatcher: very well IMHO. You know - it very difficult to get things done right the first time. It takes years to remember everything - thats why I like the digital darkroom. In here we are able to correct all our mistakes....well almost.
