You can see this seaplane has a couple of wheels, but how would it land on a runway without a third? Maybe the wheels are only used for pulling it out of the water. Any aviation buffs here?

That's a Consolidated PBY, also known as the Catalina. The wheels, including the nose-wheel which isn't visible in this picture retract into waterproof wells in the fuselage to allow amphibious operation. It's one of WW2's most famous aircraft, used primarily in the naval scouting role by the British and Americans, as well as Air-Sea Rescue and casualty evacuation. It was instrumental in finding the German battleship Bismarck and the Japanese carrier fleet at Midway. A great shot of a fantastic airplane.
