Excellent shots RedStickMan,, but the two hammers get my vote! Theyare the sharpest I've seen in this forum. Well done.

The hummers are wonderful and that first spider is truly fascinating! I have never seen anything like that. )

Cool! I never see hummingbirds around, let alone be fast enough to take a picture of one.

That spiked black and white spider, from what I found in my search, is called a spiny-backed orb weaver. Excellent photo! I particularly enjoy spider macros.

I appreciate all the comments, everyone.

For the hummer shots, I set the tripod about 4 feet from the feeder and used a remote shutter release with a long cable. I was actually in the house and watched through the window for them to come to the feeder. I was also using a flash, which I think helped a bit. I hope to get a few more pics of them before they head farther south.

Thanks for the info on the spider ID, Mark. It has had a huge web between my crepemyrtle and lemon trees. Eventually, I just know I'm going to forget and walk right through it. :sad:
