There are so many cameras. I'm new and everything sounds and looks the same. I've narrowed it to panasonic fz2 and the kodak z612. Both 6 M pixel and 12x zoom. But it seems the focus is not very responsive on the kodak z612 and pictures I can't tell. Help. All confused on which to get.:?

I would check out the review sites like here (http://www.steves-digicams.com/) and other places (Dpreview.com for instance). I would also do a search on both model numbers in flickr to see real world images of both cameras.

When I went to buy my camera a month ago, I had it down to the Canon S3 IS and the Panasonic FZ7. I think both are great cameras but the FZ7 won out on price and included accesories.

I have posted my impressions of it here:

and I have images from it on flickr here:

I am not familiar at all with the Kodak so I can't help much there.
