I did try another one with more shots and, like you said, it started looking unreal. The tree limbs started to lose detail and colors started running together. I am going to try again when I get a chance.

an example of such a 'unreal' shot is next one, it looks good but for me completely unreal.

So again using hdr to get more dr without destroying the 'real world' look your shot is great.
