I welcomed the non-extending zoom lens and improved manual focus feature of the Panasonic FZ30 but am surprised at the function of the focus ring. Legacy focusing of interchangeable camera lenses allows focusing between fixed near/far end-stops. On my FZ30, the manual focus ring rotates smoothly but is shifted too easily by incidental touch. Moreover, the focus ring can be rotated continuously --- not just between near/far end-stops. Is that normal for the FZ30 or is it a malfunction.

i suppose you can consider it normal as my FZ30 also behaves that way.
