Our daughter dropped our FZ-3 from about 10 inches off the ground on to thehard kitchen floor. It landed right on the corner of the partially extended lense, and now the lense is visibly crooked, won't retract or extend and the camera thinks the lense cap is on.

Are these things easy to take apart and put the lense "back on track" or do I need to pay a service center more than the camera is probably worth? Thanks in advance..

there is a nice "instructable" on the disassembly of the FZ5:
The FZ3 is not very different.

Will we see an instructable dealing with the FZ3 soon?

Hi, sorry to hear about your camera. Here is a link to Panasonic where you can enter the camera model and find a parts list and prices.

Just enter DMC-FZ3 where it says "model number" and check the other box that says "part number" then click on the "list parts by model".
