I do not know if this works on all FZ but it does on the FZ10 and FZ20.
The trick to obtain bokeh with the FZ zoom is to get as close to your subject
using as much zoom as possible and make sure background is at least 6 feet
behind subject.

Nice photos again Lovelife........my rule of thumb for really nice bokeh is as you say use as much zoom as poible to get you as close to the subject as you can and then have at least twice the distance from the subject to the background, as from the camera to the subject. You can achieve some very smoothe Bokeh that way.

For instance and do not be to critical of the IQ.. its freezing outside.
