I recently purchased a used FZ8; it works great and takes some fantastic zoom photos. I have a Pemaraal Adapter and clear lense on the way to protect my precious stocklense.

One thing bugs me however .. the control knob .. the silver one with the heart and "P" on it .. isscratched and discolored. Is there anyone out there who can tell me where to get a new one and how to install it ?

Thanks in advance .....

Try going to the Panasonic Parts ordering website at:

Enter 'DMC-FZ8' in the 'Model Number' box on the right-hand side and then click the 'List Parts by Model' button -- do not simply hit Enter/Return.

Scroll way down in the list and you will find two entries:

K0RB01000011 TOP OPERATION UNIT (B) 39.52
K0RB01000010 TOP OPERATION UNIT (S) 38.63

I believe, but am not sure, that these refer to the control knob -- the first is black, the second is silver. You may want to confirm this information by calling the Panasonic National Parts Center at 800-332-5368.

P.S. Congratulations on your FZ8 purchase. It's a great camera.
