Default UZI SDS victim hopeful about FZ10

My Oly C2100UZ died of the infamous and widespread "Sudden Death Syndrome" in May 2002 and I have been a sad and miserable person ever since. Will the FZ10 restore meaning and purpose to my life? Only time will tell. I'll be watching carefully as the story unfolds. I'm not going to let my hopes get too high. The $599 introductory price seems awfully low to me (I know many people want quality for nothing but you don't get what you don't pay for).

Default The price is right

The DMC-FZ10 is $150 more than the FZ1.
The average consumer will not pay more for a 2MP difference as the other improvements (if any) will be lost on them.

Since Panasonic does not position this camera as a prosumer, the direct competitors will be Olympus C-750, HP Photosmart 850, etc.
The price should be competitive with those.
